What is changing for US schools

In April 2025 the White House issued the executive order "Advancing Artificial Intelligence Education for American Youth", which set up a federal task force on AI education and directed agencies to promote AI literacy for students and training for teachers. In July 2025 the US Department of Education published guidance on the responsible use of AI in schools and on using federal funds to support it. Policy is set state by state, so districts are writing their own AI guidance, often under pressure from boards and families.

Dan's keynotes give district leaders a shared language for those decisions: what AI already does in classrooms, which decisions only leaders can make (assessment, integrity, student data, workload), and what to put in place this year.
