UK stages and media

Recent stages: Bett, London; Surpass Assessment Conference, Leeds. Media: Sky News, ITV Good Morning Britain, BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio 4 and LBC.

What is changing for UK schools

The Department for Education's guidance "Generative artificial intelligence (AI) in education" (first published March 2023, last updated 12 August 2025) sets out expectations for schools and colleges, points to the DfE's generative AI product safety expectations, and in August 2025 added Ofsted's guidance and research on AI in inspections. Trusts and councils are now deciding what staff may use, how pupils' work is assessed, and what governors should be told.

Dan's keynotes for UK leadership teams and whole-staff days turn that guidance into decisions: an AI strategy and governance approach that stays current as the tools change, and a clear agenda for the next leadership meeting.

  • Whole-staff INSET days: Thinking With Machines, with practical examples teachers will try the following week.
  • Conferences and summits: a main-stage keynote or opener.

What education leaders say

The kind of change people remember.

Dan's keynote woke us up to the urgency of embracing AI in education and challenged us to grab the opportunity with both hands. He certainly has left a lasting impression on our entire education service.
